Saint Francis and COVID-19

Updated: Jan 14, 2021

I am sure six plus months into the COVID-19 pandemic, you are feeling:

-Burnt out,

-Worried,

-Overworked,

-Frustrated,

-Under appreciated,

-Or "fill-in-the-blank."

And this is assuming you are employed.

What is the direction forward? Revenue has likely been reduced. Expenses have surely been cut. Staff may be having to "do more with less.

Each day, you can only do what you can do. It may sounds trite, but when the future seems overwhelming, think of what Saint Francis said, "Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible."

Does this sound like an a motivational poster that isn't connected to reality? I guess. But the important part for today and the near term is to "Start by doing what's necessary." That's all that is expected from most of us during these difficult time. Don't add to the pressure.
